How many permit jobs does it take to pay for the list?
Pick your trade and change the numbers to match your business. You see the jobs and profit you can expect each month from calling new permit holders, and how many wins pay for a year of leads. It all runs in your browser.
These are your numbers, not a promise. Results depend on your area, your follow-up and how many permits the city issues for your trade.

Why building permits make good leads
A building permit is public notice that someone is about to spend money on a project. A homeowner who just got a permit for an addition still needs a roofer, an electrician, a plumber and an HVAC contractor. A new commercial tenant needs a fit-out crew. The permit tells you the address, what is being built and often the estimated value, before most of the trades are hired.
The trades that win the most permit work call or drop a flyer in the first week, keep the message short, and follow up once. Because every lead is a real project, even a low win rate pays: one roofing job a year covers most plans many times over.
